1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?

I was in a Jrock/vk guild on Gaia, and the owner had the video for "Mayutsuki no Hitsugi" on her profile. Given that I love vampires and goth metal, I thought the video was really cool, and I liked the song a lot, but I couldn't figure out the name of the band and felt silly asking for some reason, so I eventually just forgot about it. A few months later, someone had actually made a D thread in a different guild, and listed the same video as one of the pvs. I recognized the video and was instantly a fan. =]

2. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?

At a time I would have said "OMG ALWAYS YES" but honestly their newer material makes me :/, and I'm hardly active with the fandom anymore since it's become fangirl breeding ground all of a sudden. Honestly, D fandom used to be so laid back and awesome - we were all like a family. Now it seems like everyone's a fangirl or an elitist.

I'll continue listening to the band, but I stay in the background as far as fandom goes these days.

3. Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?

Favorite PV: Schwarzschild! Also Ouka Saki Some ni Keri and Mayutsuki no Hitsugi.

Favorite Song: Yami yori kurai doukoku no A CAPELLA to bara yori akai jounetsu no ARIA, hands down.

Favorite DVD: Tafel Anatomie. Though... I never actually finished watching Alice in Dark Edge xDDD

Favorite Member: ASAGI

Favorite Album: Probably Neo Culture~beyond the world~. I'm always changing my mind between the first three, though. xD

Nightwish

1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?

I had heard of the band Sonata Arctica aaaaages ago from a friend of an online friend, had some of their songs and considered myself a decent fan of theirs. I had heard that they were fans of another Finnish band called Nightwish but never bothered looking them up. Then I was on a Phantom of the Opera board and were discussing covers, and someone mentioned Nightwish's version of "The Phantom of the Opera." I was instantly intrigued, and I absolutely loved the song. It took me awhile to get into the rest of their music, though. It wasn't until a long road trip when "She is My Sin" came up on shuffle that I really "heard" Nightwish. From that point on I was addicted.

2. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?

I don't really participate in the fandom too much, but I'll probably keep listening, at least to their Tarja stuff.

3. Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?

Favorite PV: I don't honestly watch many Nightwish music videos. xD If I had to pick probably "Wish I had an Angel." It has a very "Yeah, we're pretty much badass. IN YO' FAAACE." vibe to it. Plus Tarja is sexy. >.>

Favorite Song: IT'S ALWAYS CHANGING. XD For the longest time it was "Wish I had an Angel", but lately I'm leaning more towards "Ghost Love Score", "Wanderlust", "Planet Hell", and "Dead Gardens." "The Poet and the Pendulum" probably WOULD be my favorite if Tarja were singing it... :/

Favorite DVD: Haven't seen any all the way through xD

Favorite Member: Tarja. Duh. xD Though Emppu seems like a total sweety, and Marco's just awesome. I might say Tuomas if he didn't seem like such an ass. xP

Favorite Album: Once. I loved Dark Passion Play musically, but, again, Nightwish without Tarja just doesn't hold the same power to me.

Really trying to get back into the habit of updating this thing. It's not really working, but whatever.

Sooo my birthday was about two days ago. I finally wore my tartan skirt! 8D My brother said I looked like a punk rocker mated with a leopard and an 80s hair rocker at the same time. It was the nicest thing I had heard all day.

Since it was my birthday, I managed to drag my RAWRRAWRAMERICANFOODRAWRRAWR father out to a sushi restaurant for some Teppanyaki. I opted for the cheaper restaurant, because last time I had been there the Teppan chef was really cool, and the last thing I wanted to hear was my father's bitching about the price of BenniHana's. Biiiig mistake. Our Teppan chef's name was Juan, and he was most certainly NOT Asian in any way, so I was already skeptical the minute he got to our table. He spoke really, really heavily accented english, and it was obvious he had a hard time understanding us, which I would have been OKAY with if he weren't a pretty bad chef, as well. The fried rice sucked, he dropped the knives a few times, and he also dropped the egg while he was attempting to make a big show out of cracking it open. Plus the whole time was just awkward because he didn't talk to us at all. Long story short, dinner sucked. =P

BUT I did get my baby! I named him Adonis. Because he is beautiful. :''3 Filling it back up since my computer crashed has been quite the challenge, though. I've only got a little over 1,000 songs atm, and I originally had over 3,000. D; Ah well, we're getting there. Sort of.

My other present is the opera mom and I are going to tomorrow! We're going to see Tosca at the Orpheum<3 Coincidentally, that's also where we're supposed to be meeting my potential opera coach. When Mom called her up to ask about lessons, she told us to go see this show (which she's working on), because she thinks it's important that I see what really goes into putting on an opera. We're supposed to tell her where we'll be sitting, and after the show she'll come find us. Then she wants to set up an audition so she can determine where I stand vocally. If she thinks I'm advanced enough, she'll most likely take me into her private studio. Otherwise, she's going to help us find another teacher more suited to me.

I'm pretty nervous @_@ I reeeeally hope I'm good enough - Everything I've heard about this teacher is positively amazing. Plus it'll just be a huge confidence booster for me. I'm so excited~

In further news, Mom and I finally cleaned out that cave my brother called a room. All the shit's out of it, including the mattress and the clothes he just sort of left on the floor when he moved out. No joke, the crap in that room was about two feet deep. He kept promising that he was going to come over and sort through it, but Mom and I were basically sick of waiting. So we boxed up anything he might want and threw the rest away. One good thing that came out of it - I swear I found about $20 worth of change on the floor. :D So I'll be taking my little change jar to the coin star sometime soon. Whooo for being poor!

That's about all I have to say right now. :P

Mmm, the musical starts tonight. Pirates of Penzance, tonight, Friday, and Saturday night.

I'm really not sure how this is going to turn out. xD I mean I think we're pretty much ready but I've just got opening night jitters. Plus Foeman still looks a bit wonky because the band keeps playing something wrong so we get thrown off. Whatever, it's not really noticeable from the audience's point of view anyway.

I could rant for a long time about random drama with this show but I don't feel like being a bitch this morning. So you've been spared.

It'll be nice to be done with the play, though. I can have a bit of my life back after this weekend. xD

And Taste of Chaos is next Wednesday! Can't wait. *_* I really wish I could dye my hair before the concert, though. (I haven't been able to do anything with it since the play started) Alas, my appointment is the day AFTER the show, and my stylist doesn't have any other dates open. Poo. ;-;

Enough for today. I need to go get ready.
